Affordable Housing Subcommittee
The purpose of the Affordable Housing Subcommittee is to engage with community partners, solicit public input, and make housing affordability policy and funding recommendations to the Board of Commissioners for Buncombe County. Some of the items the committee discusses include affordable housing services program activities and funding, affordable housing generally, homelessness, rental assistance, feasibility studies, goal setting, and funding options.
The committee is made up of County Commissioners Amanda Edwards, Drew Ball, and Parker Sloan. They are assisted by staff from the Community Development Division of the County’s Planning and Development Department.
