Swannanoa Maps, Policies, & Actions Poll
This poll asks questions about the Future Land Use Map, Transportation Priority maps, and Policies and Actions for the Swannanoa Small Area & Resilience Plan (including Riceville, Lytle Cove, Patton Cove, Buckeye Cove, Lake Eden, and many other communities!). This poll will be open from May 4-18, 2026. Data gathered through this public poll will help inform the Swannanoa Small Area & Resilience Plan, which is anticipated to be adopted in September 2026.
Policy & Action Recommendations
The Swannanoa Plan will include specific policies and actions to help direct the work and priorities of Buncombe County government over the next 20 years. These are meant to work with the goals that are already outlined in the County's 2043 Comprehensive Plan.
What is a policy? The principles, or acceptable procedures adopted by the local government that are used to guide decision-making.
What is an action? A specific step or activity to help implement the vision and goals outlined in the Plan.
