Systemwide Parks & Recreation Master Plan Final Survey

Buncombe County’s Systemwide Parks & Recreation Master Plan was well underway in the fall of 2024 when Tropical Storm Helene changed our landscape. As part of the County’s efforts to gather additional public input on the community's desires for our parks post-storm, please review and provide responses to the following questions.

Timeline

This additional public input will be collected through September 2025, allowing us to update our needs and priorities. The plan will then be developed, creating a long-range vision for the County’s parks, recreation, greenway, trails, and open spaces system in relation to community needs and resiliency goals. The proposed plan will head to the Board of Commissioners for final approval in early 2026. We will aim for plan adoption in February 2026.

After Tropical Storm Helene in Fall 2024, many sports fields and courts in Buncombe County were damaged. Please pick up to four (4) sports amenities that you would like to see offered or prioritized for repair/replacement in our parks, or choose 'not sure/not applicable' if these amenities are not priorities for you.
