The damage to Charles D. Owen Park from Tropical Storm Helene was extensive. Buildings, fields, equipment, ponds, and green spaces were destroyed as the Swannanoa River swept through. The land has changed, but our resolve to reopen Owen Park never has. Now, we need your help to turn that resolution into reality.

This brief survey is part of the first phase of the Owen Park Project and will help us understand your history with the park, your needs in the present, and your hopes for the future. The new park will play an important role in the Swannanoa community and, at the same time, will also be a part of the larger Buncombe County parks system – so we want to hear from residents in all parts of the county.
