Just Home Project
Buncombe County is asking the community about the link between housing instability and incarceration. Through these surveys, you will provide input that will be used to guide planning for housing options for individuals in Buncombe County who were formerly incarcerated for the MacArthur Foundation's Just Home Project. The project's goal is to break the link between housing instability and jail incarceration by funding communities to design and implement housing solutions for justice-involved people. Please take the relevant survey below to help guide the County's scope of understanding for this project.

- Housing instability refers to when formerly incarcerated individuals lack safe, consistent, and affordable housing, ranging from homelessness or frequent moves to insecure, short-term, or conditional living situations that may increase the risk of re-incarceration.
- Formerly Incarcerated or Incarcerated refers to someone who has been arrested and spent time (short or long) in the Buncombe County Detention Center, or jails or prisons, in North Carolina or elsewhere.
