Feedback Needed on the 2026 Buncombe County General Election Do you want to have a voice in how Early Voting works for the 2026 General Election? Take our five-question survey so your voice can be heard. The Buncombe County Board of Elections will take feedback into consideration when determining the number of locations and weekend hours for early voting. Buncombe County Election Services staff are recommending the 12 early voting sites listed below. We also recommend that the Board of Elections approve weekend hours that would allow for only one shift to work per day instead of the two shifts that poll workers normally work on weekdays. This will ensure poll workers can rotate days and have time off during the two and half weeks of early voting. The Buncombe County 2043 Comprehensive Plan was adopted in 2023 and identified the Swannanoa corridor as one of several areas of the county in need of more detailed planning. The devastating impacts of Hurricane Helene have increased the need for a plan for Swannanoa's future growth and recovery. A Small Area Plan identifies a specific neighborhood or geographic boundary and outlines a detailed plan for addressing future change in a way that responds to the unique characteristics and needs of the area. This page will be used to provide updates during the planning process.
